Soprano and artist Shaunna Siver is known for her rich vocal range and clear, resonant tone, bringing depth, strength, and individuality to her performances. Shaunna believes that two truths can be held at once, a philosophy that shapes the way she approaches dramatic work and the characters she portrays.

Among her most notable recent performances, Shaunna portrayed Violetta in La Traviata at the Osher Opera Theater. She regularly performs with Salt Marsh Opera and made her debut with CT Lyric Opera as the Aunt in Madama Butterfly in 2024. In 2025, she made her international debut in Paris with a recital at the Théâtre de l’Île Saint-Louis.

Shaunna has a strong interest in opera outreach and making classical music accessible to new audiences. In Spring 2025, she worked with Salt Marsh Opera to promote their children’s opera, Gianni Schicchi. In 2026, she continued her outreach work with Salt Marsh Opera in connection with their production of Cenerentola. She has also appeared as a featured artist with Boston Singers Resource in their Rage Arias and Mad Scenes concert and with the Art Song Society Preservation Society of New York for their Make Music Day concert.

Additional operatic engagements include covering the role of Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana with Modern Vintage Opera in June 2025 and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Greater Worcester Opera. She has also performed in workshop and educational settings, including Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus and Antonia in The Tales of Hoffmann at Northwestern University. In 2021, she appeared as Anne Boleyn in a virtual production of Libby Larsen’s Try Me, Good King with Opera on Tap Maine.

Her musical theater credits include Signora Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza with City Theater and the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Fallen Chandelier Productions.

Shaunna was a finalist in the CT Opera Idol competition with Opera Connecticut in 2024. Previous competition experience includes an Honorable Mention in the Progressive Musicians Competition in 2021, semifinalist placement in the Music International Grand Prix Competition in 2022, and First Prize in the MAP International Music Competition in 2022.

Shaunna received her classical vocal training at the highly selective Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Tom Baresel. She later earned a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from the Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine, where she studied with Dr. Malinda Haslett. Her previous teachers include Dana Lynne Varga of Boston and Barbara Clark.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Shaunna stepped away from the stage and built a career in assisted living, where she specialized in caring for residents living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Although her work was deeply meaningful, she never lost her love of singing. Eventually, that love drew her back to performing, and she is grateful to once again be making music, connecting with audiences, and continuing to grow as an artist.

Shaunna currently serves as a Professor of Voice at Central Connecticut State University and maintains a private voice studio. Originally from New York and currently based in West Hartford, Connecticut, she is continuing to build her career as a performer and educator and is excited to explore opportunities both nationally and internationally.
